Independent Dual Extruder (IDEX)
You never know what you can make until you try. Combine materials to obtain different mechanical properties or colors in one single print. Make something new, explorative, and fabulous.
Work independently. Work efficiently. The IDEX mirror mode enables the dual extruder to work symmetrically and simultaneously. When printing with mirrored objects or symmetrical objects in J1, you can save half the printing time.
Double the production capacity. When printing identical objects, you can print twice as many parts as you would get with a regular dual-extruder 3D printer. So it doubles the printing efficiency without adding the cost of buying another 3D printer.
Backup Mode and More
Two is better than one. When printing in single mode, you can set J1 into backup mode. If the print head at work gets clogged or its filament runs out, J1 would stop it and start the other print head to resume the print automatically. More modes are being tested internally and will be introduced when they are ready.

Print a variety of materials with ease. From the print heads, heated bed, motion mechanism, and enclosure addon, all the components and structures in J1 are carefully designed to work efficiently with various materials.

Direct Drive & Dual Drive
J1 has great compatibility with a broader range of materials and a fine control of retraction. The direct drive setup offers a highly responsive extrusion system. As the dual drive setup grips and controls the filament from both sides, the setup can deliver a consistent flow of filament. Combining these two setups, J1 can print flexible material with better results.

J1's print heads are packed with various powerful features to deliver a reliable and easy-to-use printing experience. Covered with strong and transparent housings, the print heads allow you to see through the head to know filament status.
Precise Nozzle Height Calibration
It will result in a failed print if your dual extruder is not aligned correctly. However, for most IDEX 3D printers, dual extruder calibration is quite complicated and difficult. For J1, we've designed a special structure for precise nozzle calibration. You can adjust the nozzle height much more precisely by following the instructions on the touchscreen to turn the knob to a specific value.
Jams & Filament Runout Sensor
Each print head in J1 includes a filament sensor to detect, autopause, and alert you about not only filament runout but also filament jams. The sensor can help prevent ruining your prints or the hotend, save the material and power. In the case of filament running out, J1 can even let you resume the print after the problem is fixed.
Various Sizes & Easy-to-Detach Hotends
J1 is not only compatible with nozzles in various diameters, but also enabling you to use two different nozzles in one single print, which is a super cool feature using the IDEX system. You can use the 0.4 mm nozzle for daily prints, use the 0.2 mm nozzle to obtain the finest details, and use the 0.6 mm and 0.8 mm nozzles to speed up the print or print stronger parts.

You can use a secondary material as supports to print complex geometries and get smoother surface details. The support material can be dissolvable materials like PVA. You can also save on premium materials by printing them on the main body, and printing supports with a regular, cheaper material.
Glass Plate with PEI Print Surface
Featuring a glass plate with the Polyetherimide (PEI) print surface, J1 offers an ideal build plate for 3D printing with a wide variety of materials. The glass plate is reliably flat, thermally stable, and extremely durable. The PEI print surface offers excellent adhesion and easier print removal for a printed object.
